D is for duck

Did you know that people impulse buy ducks? Well they do and here is the proof.
These are Peking ducks. This picture is from the beginning of May. They have lost most of their coloring and are just white now.
One sadly hurt his/her foot and now walks with a limp. They spend most of their time swimming in the swamp. One of the geese adopted them as his own. He leads them to and from the swamp, protects them from us, and reminds them when it is feeding time. It is really a cute sight.
Our momma chick that had 11 chicks a few months ago went broody again. She gave us 5 new healthy babies.
God is good.

I'm with AHB, how do they loose their color and how can they get it back? This is like the question "can a zebra change his stripes?"
